Fried Chicken and Waffle; Enough Said.

On a damp, humid, warm-ish with a slight chill day in London’s dreary summer, sometimes comfort food is all you want. With a style reminiscent of Nandos, Ma’plucker does not disappoint with it’s southern style buttermilk fried chicken.

What: Chicken (rotisserie, pulled, fried)

Where: Ma’Plucker, 75 Beak St, London W1F 9SS

Why: You need trusted food for a pick-me-up

There’s a choice of a slightly healthier option to choose an accompaniment of salad or wrap. Instead of fried chicken, you also have the option to choose from the rotisserie or pulled version of the chicken. Multiple sauces available to choose from as well such as gravy, bbq etc.

I preferred my buttermilk fried chicken more. However, the spiced pulled chicken definitely pack some punch in it’s flavouring.

The interior is pretty similar to how Nandos look. Got that quirky mellow feel to it with the yellow lighting and giant chicken signs. Super chilled atmosphere. Other than that, nothing else is similar, you don’t have to order at the till. The restaurant is too small for you to walk around really. We were lucky and went quite early on a Friday evening but it gets quite packed later on so do come early!

Glam chicky

I also noticed a chick with a tiara on display in the restaurant. I have now named it Glam chicky.

Fabulous.

10/10 would come again.
